A lovely card

Hello everyone. Shweta here from Paper Charms.  😊
Today I have a card for you all. Something floral and bright and lively to cheer up your day. Check this out.

It's almost spring time, time to bid winter goodbye. Winters are pretty cold and harsh back at my place. I enjoyed the season thoroughly -my hot cuppas, the wonderfully warming sun, igniting fire at nights and letting it warm me to my soul, everything. But  now I look forward to a change.
Spring reminds me of sunshine, flowers, birds and a lovely weather. Hence decided to create something on those lines.

I'm a passionate crafter at heart and I'm sure you guys will understand when I say that I just love my pattern papers and don't have the heart to throw away the leftover scraps. I maintain a stash of even the smallest strip of scrap until I find it's use.

Well, here I've taken the meaning of scraps literally and to a whole new level. Not only have I used scraps from two of Papericious pattern paper packs - Perfect Affair and If Only, I have also managed to use their cover pages. I fussy cut elements from the front and the back cover of Perfect Affair paper pack and used in my card. The cover is shiny and thick, hence hadn't thrown away. Check this.

The scraps and the fussy cut elements as below.

I ended up using only some of the scraps shown in picture, not all.

I had some black colored pattern paper scraps from Perfect Affair paper pack. I cut them into equal sized strips , distrssed them using scissors and brown distress ink.

Took a contrast cream colored scrap paper piece from If Only paper pack and pasted the black strips using foam tape to give a dimensional effect. Distressed the cream paper using the same method above. Did some random stamping on it.

Splattered some white acrylic paint on the card.

The base was now ready for the composition. I used some chippies, fussy cut elements from the scraps- flowers, leaves, bird, clock and assembled them to my liking. The flowers used are handmade by me. Adhered the bird on real twigs for that extra effect. Then pasted the whole thing on a black cardstock card base.

To complete the look, added art stones and a sentiment- something to brighten my day. And done!

I loved the look of it.

I am entering this card in the Papericious January Challenge - Scrap your scraps and
