Altered Hoop Layout

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog.

Shweta here today to share an inspiration project for Prika monthly challenge, the theme this month being - Birds bees and butterflies . And this challenge is being sponsored by the brand - CrafTreat.

I have altered an embroidery hoop and turned it into a layout, using the CrafTreat butterfly stencil and their intricate frame chiplets.

I have not used too many fancy supplies in this project. Just some basic supplies from my stash. And yet, the end result is beautiful.

Here's the list of supplies used. You may also find the process video below.

CrafTreat- Butterfly Stencil, Frame Chiplets
Acrylic Colors-White,Black,Blue,Pink
Prika-White and Black Cardstock
Prima-Art Stones
Little Birdie-Soft Gel Medium,Silicon Glue
Distress Inks-Worn Lipstick,Vintage Photo
Archival Ink-Majestic Violet
Handmade flowers, tags, fussy cut elements and other ephemera from my stash.

I started by coloring the entire hoop black. Then I pasted white cardstock cut in a circle on the hoop to use as the base. Layered a piece of black cardstock cut in a semi-circle on the white one.

Used White,Blue,Pink acrylic paints and randomly applied color on the black cardstock and also splattered some white color. Then using distress and archival ink and some black paint, stenciled a butterfly on white cardstock and fussy cut it.

Then I stenciled random patterns on the cardstock base using the same stencil and bronze metallic acrylic paint.

I then assembled all the ephemera and embellishments and used a picture of a couple as my focal point. Added some art stones here and there. Lastly I added a satin ribbon to complete the project.

Here's the video tutorial:

Saw how easy it is to create something beautiful without using too many fancy supplies?
Do let me know how you find the project in comments.

Happy crafting.
Shweta
