An altered bottle

Hello people. I'm back today with a new creation, an altered glass bottle with mixed media work. Makes a wonderful home decor. Check this.

I just love mixed media work.  Working with texture paste and paints and embellishments and gesso, the whole process is so satisfying.

This particular bottle is made-to-order for a friend.

I first started with gluing tissue paper pieces all over the bottle. That gave a nice textured look after drying. I then primed the bottle with black gesso all over.

Glued some chippies and metal charms after the gesso dried. Mixed some art stones with texture paste and applied roughly around the embellishments. Primed them with black gesso too.

Then used random teal chalk paint and blue metallic paint over the gesso after it dries. Not too much, just a little bit of colour here and there.

Finally added a resin embellishment, a handmade flower, leaf chippies and tied a jute cord with pearls.

Working with so much of black may be overwhelming for some, but it is something that I really enjoy doing. Because when done rightly, the addition of colors on black gesso looks so beautiful. The black background brings out the colors even more beautifully.

Here are some more pics. Do comment if you like it.
Thanks for stopping by!
