You are a star- altered MDF star

Hello crafty peeps.

Shweta here today to share my latest creation, an altered MDF star.

This was a small gift to a very dear friend, with a very powerful message.

I started with priming the star with black gesso  first. Then adhered some scraps of a lace, die cuts, art stones, mixed media sand with soft gloss gel to give the extra depth and textures. Again covered everything in black gesso.

Then dry brushed it with some chalk paints in pink and white shades.

Added handmade flowers, string, some chippies, diy enamel dots, art stones and a sentiment and done! Added a magnet at the back and converted it into a fridge magnet.

Easy enough to try,isn't it?

Do let me know how you like it.

Till then, see ya!!

  1. Love this mixed media fridge magnet with a short tutorial. Your friend would have loved it! I would like to know how you made diy enamel dots.
    Have a great day.

    1. Hi Chandhini. Thank you so much. Yes she loved it dearly.
And for your query, enamel dots are easy to make. I make them using glue gun on non stick craft mat and paint them with metallic/chalk paints. Alternatively, you may also use half pearls and paint them.
